Kay Julie Hutchings is an English abstract artist working with woven paper. She creates paper weaves using fragments of her existing artworks, new paintings, and found materials.Her practice explores themes of reconstruction, memory, and transformation—taking apart and reassembling visual elements into new forms.Through a balance of repetition and randomness, structure and disruption, the work develops intuitively. The grid acts as both a framework and a constraint, allowing unexpected relationships to emerge.The process itself is slow and meditative, rooted in mindfulness and careful attention. Each piece becomes a record of decisions, rhythm, and time.Kay lives and works in southern Sweden, and her art is held in several private collections around the world, including Scandinavia, UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, USA and Australia.Kay's artwork is available for purchase, commissions, and art licensing and publishing. She welcomes enquiries from galleries, curators, and private collectors.
